Angelsoft is a well funded web startup located off of Madison Park in NYC that operates the free, web-based productivity tool for most of the angel groups in the world. With a CEO who is the chairman of the New York Angels and an associated incubator on the floor below, not only is this a classic Alley startup, but one that is firmly rooted in the world of entrepreneurship.

There are lots of cool things about working at Angelsoft, including competitive salaries, full benefits, equity at a supportive and financially sound company, the respect and opportunities that come from being technologists at a technology company and entrepreneurs at an entrepreneurial company, as well as the chance to work with a team committed to building great software and having fun doing it.

While this is a ‘grown up’ company (David S. Rose, the CEO, was described by Red Herring magazine as “the patriarch of Silicon Alley”, and has survived several cycles here), it’s one that seems to have neatly blended Alley/boom-cool, with 2.0 professionalism and bottom lines.

Among the toys (um, make that “tools“) in this 20 person shop are regular Guitar Hero competitions on the Xbox in the programmers’ lounge, a complete REAL music studio with full electronic instruments for the proto-band the company is in the process of putting together, a full 19th century letterpress printshop with free classes, weekly ‘free lunch Fridays’ featuring things like mini-sessions on “how to pitch VCs”, or TED talks on DVD, and a host of unique events each year that in the past have included a luxury private train trip to the races at Saratoga, a Ninja banquet with LaserTag battle, and even a summer beach party and sushi sail. Not to mention the annual Truffle Lunch to which everyone is invited.

Best of all, the company has a strict No Bozo policy, and from top to bottom, there’s lots of respect, professionalism and good vibes. If they’re recruiting you, it’s *really* worth a serious look!
